OctoScan is a rotary table from RPI that makes it possible to measure objects that exceed the capacity of your portable coordinate measuring machine.

Increased measurement capacity for larger components

OctoScan is a metrology-grade rotary axis developed to increase the measurement volume of portable coordinate measuring machines (PCMM). By rotating the workpiece, the operator can measure parts that would otherwise be outside the measuring arm’s reach. The result is a significantly larger measurement capacity without having to change equipment.

High precision for advanced metrology

The rotary table is calibrated for metrology applications and enables extremely precise measurement in quality control, reverse engineering and 3D modelling. The integrated Reference Point System (RPS) ensures exact positioning between each rotation, allowing measurement data to be correctly merged in 3D metrology software such as PolyWorks or Verisurf.

More efficient measurement process and easy integration

When OctoScan is used together with a measuring arm, the entire part can be reached from a single set-up. This can increase productivity by up to 40% while reducing the risk of incorrect positioning. The system is wireless, portable and compatible with all makes of measuring arms, making installation quick and flexible even in a production environment.
