Rinse cabinets and rinse sinks for particle extraction

Rinse cabinets and rinse sinks are used to extract particles from manufactured components prior to analysis of technical cleanliness. By rinsing components with a controlled liquid, particles can be removed from surfaces and collected in filters for further analysis. This method is used in many industries where cleanliness requirements are critical for component performance and lifespan.

Our rinse cabinets and rinse sinks are used for particle extraction in accordance with technical cleanliness standards such as ISO 16232, VDA 19.1, and ISO 4406, as well as customer specific requirements.

The difference between rinse cabinets and rinse sinks

Both rinse cabinets and rinse sinks are used for particle extraction prior to particle analysis and technical cleanliness evaluation, but they are suited for different types of components and workflows. The choice of solution affects how the extraction is performed and how the working environment is designed.

Rinse cabinets for particle extraction from components

A rinse cabinet is used to extract particles from components in a controlled and enclosed working environment. The component is placed inside the cabinet and rinsed with a controlled amount of liquid that circulates through filtration. Particles released from the surface are collected in filters.

Rinse sinks for technical cleanliness analysis

A rinse sink is used for the same type of particle extraction but in a more open workspace where components are rinsed directly in a sink. The liquid circulates through filtration so that particles can be captured in filter cartridges for further analysis.

Rinse cabinets and rinse sinks according to technical cleanliness standards

To ensure comparable results, particle extraction must be performed according to defined methods. Standards such as ISO 16232 and VDA 19.1 are commonly used in the automotive industry and other sectors where small particles can affect the performance of systems such as hydraulics, fuel systems, or precision components.

Equipment such as rinse cabinets and rinse sinks is therefore designed to control flow, filtration, and the amount of rinsing liquid used during extraction. Through controlled liquid flow and filtration, the extraction process can be repeated in a systematic way.

Validation of the rinsing method makes it possible to perform multiple extractions using the same procedure, ensuring comparable results.

Our solutions for particle extraction

At NYLI, we offer both rinse cabinets and rinse sinks for working with technical cleanliness. Our rinse cabinet CC G4 is a solution where extraction takes place in an ergonomically designed enclosure with controlled liquid flow and filtration.

For applications where a more open workspace is preferred, we also offer the rinse sink CS G4, which is used for the same type of particle extraction but in a sink based solution.

Both systems are assembled in our facilities in Uddevalla and are also used in our own accredited laboratory. Since the equipment is used daily in a laboratory environment, the design has been tested in practical operation over a long period of time.

Rinse cabinets and rinse sinks in technical cleanliness processes

In many industries, particle control is an important part of quality work. Small particles can affect the performance of systems such as hydraulic systems, valves, or other precision components.

With a rinse cabinet or rinse sink, particles can be removed from component surfaces prior to analysis. The results are often used to verify cleanliness levels and ensure that production meets specified cleanliness requirements.

The method also makes it possible to monitor changes in production over time and identify processes where particles may be generated.
